Every cabin at Notestone Reserve comes with a private hot tub. That is not a filter you need to apply here, it is the default. The four cabins sit on our 14-acre, family-owned property in Laurelville, Ohio, on the quiet western side of the Hocking Hills. Each sleeps six, each welcomes dogs, and each has two full bathrooms, a fire pit, and a hot tub of its own under the trees. What actually separates them is layout, and layout is worth two minutes of your attention before you book.
Austen is the cabin with the spiral staircase, which children treat as a destination in its own right. It winds up to a lofted king. The main floor has a bunk room with a twin over a full, and the lower level holds a second king bedroom. Two full bathrooms, one per level, both with showers.
The math works out to grandparents, parents, and kids each getting their own landing zone, which is rarer in a six-sleeper than it should be. Austen’s photos and calendar are here.
Hemingway spreads six sleepers across three levels: a queen bedroom on the main floor, a lofted king above, and a king bedroom on the lower level. The cabin has stairs like any three-level build, but the main-floor queen means one couple never needs them after the bags are in. Two full baths, main and lower.
Sherwood sleeps six with a different logic. A king bedroom on the main floor, a king bedroom on the lower level, and a queen murphy bed in the lower-level living room. Two couples get real bedrooms on separate floors, and the murphy bed handles guests five and six without pretending a sofa is a bed.
Stowe splits the six-sleeper problem cleanly: a king on the main floor, a lofted king above, and a queen on the lower level. Three couples, three levels, nobody on a pullout, and the main-floor king is the biggest no-stairs bed on the property. Two full bathrooms keep the morning line moving.
Each hot tub belongs to its cabin, screened by trees rather than a row of neighboring decks. We stock striped towels specifically for hot tub duty, ask you to keep the cover on between soaks, and reset the water chemistry between every stay. October, when the ridges turn, is the season the tubs earn their reputation. February, when the steam rises into bare branches, is the underrated one.
Every cabin guest also gets the shared game room a short walk across the property: pool table, foosball, arcade machines, and an 85-inch TV for the night the weather wins. And if it is just the two of you, every stay on the property has its own hot tub, including the four tiny homes and the two glass homes, all sized and priced for a pair.
Booking direct saves 10 to 15 percent versus the platforms, and the calendar is the same one.
Dogs stay in any of the four cabins for a $100 pet fee. They are welcome at the fire pit and on the trails; the hot tub is a people-only zone.
Winter guests: 4WD or AWD makes the back roads a non-issue, and the hot tubs run all winter. That is arguably when they are best.
