Stowe is an original log cabin that’s been brought forward without losing what made it worth keeping. White-painted exposed logs, a wraparound deck with string lights, an electric fireplace anchoring the main floor — it’s the cabin that feels most like a cabin, and that’s exactly the point.

Named for Harriet Beecher Stowe — who paid close attention to the world around her and understood that the most important things happen when people are present with each other — it’s one of four cabins at Notestone Reserve, our family-owned 14-acre property in Laurelville.

The kitchen has its own space — fully equipped with everything you need to cook a real meal. The main floor opens into a living and dining area with an electric fireplace, dining table, and a conversation corner worth settling into. Bluetooth speaker on the main floor.

• Kitchen stocked with the basics to get you started — salt, pepper, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, foil, and cooking spray.

🐾 Dogs Welcome

Up to 2 dogs allowed per stay. One crate is provided. Dogs must remain leashed on the property and off the furniture. A $100 pet fee applies per stay.

🧴 What’s Here When You Arrive

Every bathroom comes stocked with the good stuff — shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. One less thing to remember when you’re packing for the weekend.

We provide a starter kit of the essentials — 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, a roll of paper towels, a kitchen sponge, and trash liners. We recommend bringing a little extra just in case.

Notestone Reserve sits in the heart of the Hocking Hills, close enough to hit two or three trails in a day and still be back in time for the fire pit.

Old Man’s Cave — 20 minutes

Ash Cave — 26 minutes

Cedar Falls, Cantwell Cliffs, and the rest of the state park system are all within a short drive as well.

📶 About the WiFi

WiFi is included, but satellite internet in Hocking Hills has its limits. Most guests find the inconsistency easier to accept once they’re in the hot tub. We aren’t able to issue refunds for WiFi interruptions.

🌿 A Note on the Setting

We’re in a wooded area, and while we stay on top of regular pest control, the occasional ladybug or curious spider showing up is just nature doing its thing.

📋 A Few House Rules

We’re a small, family-owned operation, and keeping Notestone calm and well-kept is a group effort. A few things we ask:

• No parties or events, including bachelor/bachelorette groups. And no glitter — it never, ever goes away.

• Only registered guests on the property

• No smoking, vaping, fireworks, ATVs, hunting, or weapons

• No commercial photography or videography without written approval

• Hot tub: use the striped towels provided and keep the cover on between soaks

• Septic-safe: flush toilet paper only; no garbage disposal at the sink

• 4WD/AWD recommended during winter months

• Check-in: 4:00 PM / Check-out: 11:00 AM
