When you book one of our stays through Airbnb or VRBO, the platform adds its own guest service fees on top of our rate. Those fees don’t buy you anything extra — they go to the platform, not to us, and not into your stay.

We pick up the phone, and if we miss you, we call back the same day. Emails get answers within a few hours.

Is it cheaper to book direct?

Yes. Platforms like Airbnb and VRBO add guest service fees on top of our rate — fees that go to the platform, not into your stay. Booking direct removes those fees entirely, and joining our email list adds 10% off your first direct booking (2-night minimum). The only costs on a direct booking are the nightly rate, a one-time cleaning fee, and the $100 pet fee if dogs are coming to a cabin.

Is booking direct secure?

Yes. Direct bookings run through our professional booking system with a secure online checkout — the same kind of payment process you’d get on a platform. You’ll get a confirmation, a renter agreement to sign electronically, and detailed arrival instructions with your door code before check-in. And if anything ever comes up, you have the owners’ direct phone and email — not a support queue.

Can I use a gift card on a direct booking?

That’s the only place you can use one. Notestone Reserve gift cards are redeemable toward any direct booking at notestonereserve.com, never expire, and start at $50. They can’t be applied on Airbnb or Vrbo. If the stay costs more than the card, the balance is charged to your card at checkout.

How do I get the 10% off?

Join the email list (there’s a form at the bottom of this page) and we’ll send you the discount for your first direct booking. It applies to direct bookings only, with a 2-night minimum. No spam — and you can unsubscribe anytime.

What’s the cancellation policy on a direct booking?

Cancel 14+ days before arrival for a full refund (less a $25 fee); 7–14 days before arrival, a 50% refund (less a $25 fee); within 7 days, no refund. If a Level 3 Snow Emergency in Hocking County prevents access to the property, you get a full refund. All the fine print lives on our FAQs page.
