Hughes is a lofted tiny home for two — just enough space, and exactly the right amount. Queen bed under the eaves, private hot tub on the deck, fire pit stocked and ready for the night ahead. It’s one of four tiny homes at Notestone Reserve, our family-owned 14-acre property in Laurelville, Ohio.
Named for Langston Hughes, whose work found beauty and weight in everyday life — the kind of noticing that comes easier when you slow down enough to let it.
Most guests spend the whole stay in their own lane: hot tub, fire pit, patio. Each tiny home has its own private outdoor space — privacy panels around the hot tub and natural shrub and tree coverage between homes keep things feeling separate without being walled off.
Outside: private hot tub with dedicated striped towels, propane grill, wood-burning fire pit with firewood and starter log, seating for two with blankets. Inside: a lofted queen bed with crisp linens (note — the beam above the bed sits about 29 inches from the mattress, so sit up carefully), a kitchenette with cooking essentials, coffee bar, spa-style bathroom with premium toiletries, Smart TV, and Bluetooth speaker. The loft staircase is standard tiny home construction — all to code, but the ceiling comes down as you climb and the last step is higher than the others. Most guests navigate it without issue. If stairs are a mobility concern, Thoreau — our ground-level glass home with level entry from the parking area — is worth considering instead.
All Notestone guests have access to our shared game room: 85″ Smart TV, pool table, foosball, basketball arcade, classic arcade machines, Legos, board games, indoor cornhole, and an outdoor playground.
Rock House is 7 minutes away. Conkle’s Hollow is 15 minutes. Old Man’s Cave is 20 minutes. Ash Cave is 28 minutes. Cedar Falls and Cantwell Cliffs are all within a short drive. We run Starlink satellite internet — solid for streaming and browsing, occasionally spotty for video calls on overcast days.

This home is in a rural area of Hocking Hills and 4WD/AWD is recommended during the winter months.
Check-In Type: A keypad is available 24 hours a day to provide entry for guests.
Check-In Instructions: A code will be emailed 1-3 days before your scheduled arrival.
One designated parking spot marked nearby the tiny home. Additional parking can be found near the community game room.
Self-check in provided for guests. We are available via text, email, or phone call if any needs arise!
While we do not ask guests to strip the beds or gather towels, we do request the house to be left in the same condition it was found (trash discarded, dirty dishes cleaned, empty belongings from fridge, etc). We take great pride in our home and hope you’ll do the same as you leave! Please turn off lights when you leave. Make sure windows and doors are closed and locked. Lock Up – Please lock the front door when you leave.

– Although we do provide free satellite WiFi in the home, we are in an extremely rural area where internet is often spotty – we ask that you come prepared to unplug in the case that the WiFi signal is not perfect during your stay. No refund will be issued for any issues related to the WiFi.
– To preserve the peaceful ambiance of the cabin, events and parties—including bachelor and bachelorette parties—are strictly prohibited. Evidence of unauthorized gatherings may result in immediate removal from the property. Please, no glitter.
– Only registered guests and the number of occupants stated in the reservation are permitted on the property.- Commercial photography/videography is not allowed without prior consent.
– For the safety and well-being of our guests and to protect the natural surroundings, smoking, vaping, fireworks, sparklers, atvs, hunting, and weapons are not allowed.
– Violations of these rules will result in a $300 penalty, plus any additional costs for damages.
– Prior to your stay, we require you to sign & agree to our renter agreement. Additionally, we will place a $300 hold for a security deposit. The security deposit will be released within five days after check out after confirmation of no damage to the property or violation of the rules.
